Job Description
MyOme is looking for a creative and pragmatic individual to join our frontend team.This position will help develop the next iteration of interactive experiences for patients and providers, bringing clarity and ease of use to complex genetics results. The successful candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to build value with or without designs through fast prototyping and iteration. You will need to demonstrate an eye for good UX, smooth UI, and pragmatic execution.
Key Responsibilities
Independently implement new functionality in our patient and provider portals
Provide feedback and support to the Frontend Lead both technically and in User Experience
Build intuitive interfaces with and without designs
Work with the API team to develop new APIs
Mentor backend team members who touch the frontend
Contribute to agile development processes including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement
Balance quick wins with long-term technical sustainability
Skills and Experience
No specific degree prerequisite. If you can do the work well and humbly, we want to talk with you.
6+ years of frontend development experience
Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade web applications
Experience with transactional frontends
Expert-level proficiency in modern frontend development, including TypeScript and frontend frameworks (React preferred)
Experience with state management solutions and frontend architecture patterns
Strong understanding of browser compatibility issues and solutions
Experience with responsive design and progressive web applications
Deep understanding of web performance optimization and debugging
Experience with modern frontend testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable with using and providing feedback on API design
Experience with HIPAA compliance and healthcare software, or other privacy-focused frontends
Strong visual and interaction design skills, with the ability to create elegant and intuitive UIs without a dedicated designer.
Familiarity with UX tools like Figma, Sketch, or wireframing tools (even if used informally for personal mockups).
Location: Hybrid to SF office (near Montgomery BART) 2 days/week -or- Remote-friendly with preference for the Bay Area or Eastern time zones. Occasional travel required for team meetings.
Compensation: 160K-200K/year depending on experience; equity; and the following benefits:
