In this advanced ICU, the Nurse Manager Cardiovascular Critical Care will guide a unit that serves as a centerpiece of a hospital designated as a Stroke Center and Cardiac Center, complemented by a strong orthopedics program for complex surgical and trauma cases. The Nurse Manager Cardiovascular Critical Care will oversee high-acuity care including post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery, mechanical circulatory support, CRRT, IABP, and comprehensive neurocritical and cardiac pathways that are integrated with rapid response, cath lab, and surgical services to ensure seamless, time-sensitive care.
Reporting to senior nursing leadership and partnering closely with cardiology and cardiovascular surgery medical directors, the Nurse Manager Cardiovascular Critical Care will lead operations, quality, staffing, budgets, and performance metrics—advancing CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE, sepsis bundle, and door-to-balloon results. Supported by a collaborative team that includes assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, clinical educators, and a friendly, diverse workforce of bedside RNs, APPs, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, PT/OT, case management, perfusionists, and eICU resources, the Nurse Manager Cardiovascular Critical Care will cultivate a just culture, mentor emerging leaders, and strengthen shared-governance councils.
