Summary : Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in maintaining accurate and complete consumer medical records at all times.

Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift (7:30-4:30 or 8:00-5:00)

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Palmer goals, strategies, and values.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Palmer Polices and state and federal laws.
  • Role model appropriate behavior, professional boundaries, respectful communication, and personal appearance in accordance with Employee Dress Code.
  • Check each document for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in accordance with Palmer’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Sort and correctly file each document to appropriate file. Open and close consumer charts.
  • Maintain the associated logs and records in accordance with established priorities and procedures.
  • Maintain Consumer’s medical records according to HIPAA, 42 CFR, ODMHSAS and CARF standards.
  • Assure information contained in records is complete, accurate and only available to authorized personnel.
  • Assist in all consumer file audits and accreditation surveys.
  • Conduct internal file audits to verify all files are complete. Communicate missing items with treatment provider and director.
  • Participate in ongoing in-service education programs and staff development programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency policies, procedures and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in record keeping and clerical tasks
  • Excellent Computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Previous experience working in a treatment or medical setting, preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit for up to 8 hours/day, view computer screen for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Job requires twisting, lifting, standing, sitting, walking, stretching, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
