Step into the shop and lead the craft

Based in Grand Rapids, MI, you will guide a talented crew of die repair technicians through each stage of maintenance and restoration. Your morning starts with a quick huddle, prioritizing jobs, aligning on safety, and reviewing open issues. From there, you’ll walk the floor, inspect tooling, coordinate fixes with engineering and production, and track progress so every die returns to service meeting exacting standards.

What you’ll own

• Lead, coach, and mentor die repair technicians to elevate skills and performance.
• Manage the full die repair workflow—from triage to sign-off—ensuring consistent quality.
• Perform routine and targeted inspections of dies and completed repairs; drive corrective actions.
• Partner closely with engineering and production to diagnose and resolve die-related problems.
• Maintain meticulous records for repairs, preventive maintenance, and tool/material inventories.
• Champion safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.
• Onboard and train new technicians while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling or certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated die repair or comparable tooling experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Background with high-pressure die casting and high-volume machining is beneficial.
• Deep understanding of die repair methods, tooling, and materials.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Sharp problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Commitment to rigorous safety and quality practices.
