Job Description

JFS at Home, a private duty licensed home health agency operating in Palm Beach County is seeking a Controller to join their team of professionals. The job is in-person (not remote). The Controller acts as the financial leader, responsible for all accounting related activities for JFS at Home including managerial accounting, high-level accounting and finance activities. They play a critical role in monthly and annual reporting of income, expenses, balance sheet, budgets and bank reconciliations. Essential Job Functions: Accounting/Reporting

  • Manages all operations in the accounting department including billing, A/R and A/P.
  • Prepares timely monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Prepares and posts all journal entries including payroll entries based on information received from payroll and benefits reports.
  • Processes monthly bank reconciliations, locates and corrects any discrepancies.
  • Prepares and analyzes annual budget, financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Presents financial statements to the JFS at Home board of directors
  • Ensures timely processing of payments to vendors; monthly billing to clients including management of accounts receivables and collections of outstanding invoices.
  • Manages and prepares monthly invoices for all client payer sources.
  • Processes and records payments against open invoices including credit card and checks, including bank deposits.
  • Resolves billing issues with clients and vendors.
  • Develops and coordinates all relationships with financial institutions.
  • Formulates and posts all journal entries.
  • Verifies all revenue and expenses in order to prepare monthly and annual statement of expense and balance sheet.
  • Confirms all payments are recorded properly against open invoices including credit cards and checks.
  • Prepares and deposits daily checks via remote capture machine or bank deposits
  • Analyzes aging report to minimize delinquent accounts and resolves any billing issues with clients.
  • Maintains general ledger and reconciles accounts.
  • Collaborates with CPA on tax preparation.

Preferred Education * Master’s in Accounting preferred Required Work Experience: * At least five years working in the field or related industry with Master’s degree or ten years with Bachelor’s degree
