Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a $30M+ tech/communications company who is seeking a Controller to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Title: Controller
Location: Reston, VA
Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000/year + bonus + equity
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

The ideal candidate will possess a CPA, have Big-4/public accounting experience, demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, and exhibit an excellent track record in team management, with the potential to grow into a CFO role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting operations team, both domestically and internationally.
• Oversee all operational accounting aspects, including financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
• Interpret and apply technical accounting guidance and standards to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and growth initiatives.
• Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of professional development and excellence.

Requirements:

• CPA certification required.
• Experience in Big-4 or public accounting is highly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in interpreting and applying accounting guidance.
• Proven track record in managing and leading accounting teams.
• Ability to work in a complex multi-entity environment with international operations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and clearable, with some travel required (1-2 weeks per year).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
